From draft to signed certificate

Enter the tenants, rental address and tenancy start date. You can include up to four people in the free template. Check who shares the same tenancy agreement before using one document for several people.

Can couples or people in a shared flat use one template?

The template uses one address and one tenancy period for everyone named. Joint tenants can prepare one draft when those details apply to all of them. If you had separate agreements, different previous homes or different tenancy periods, prepare the information separately and ask the landlord how to record it. Being a couple or sharing a flat does not by itself mean you share a tenancy agreement. Adding a name does not confirm that person’s tenancy or rent payments.

Why is the document in German?

The form helps you prepare the information in English. The template and its preview remain in German so your landlord can review the same wording that appears in the downloaded document.

Where is my information stored?

The form and files are processed in your browser. A draft is saved on this device only when you choose to save it. Opening the separate digital service does not transfer these entries.

Can I request a digital confirmation instead?

The separate service at mietnachweis.de is in German and currently handles one person per request. The regular PDF costs €14.90 including VAT, payable after the landlord confirms. Via this page it is €3 cheaper, €11.90, because the voucher is already in the link. Starting the service does not send a request automatically.

What if my landlord does not respond?

A draft does not replace your landlord’s confirmation. You can prepare a follow-up message or ask the prospective landlord which other documents they will consider.
